Book Review: A Convenient Heart by Lacy Williams

A Convenient Heart by Lacy Williams
4 Stars
Book 1 in the Wind River Mail-Order Brides Series

I listened to the audiobook of this one and I thought it was really good! Merritt is a school teacher and she is ready to get married. She answers a mail-order bride ad and is anticipating the groom's arrival on the eve of Christmas. The man who steps off the train, Jack, is not the man she was expected to arrive.

This was set in the late 1800s in a small town in Wyoming.

I loved the characters. Merrit was great and really cared about her job. She was easy to root for. She is labeled a spinster and tired of waiting for the magic to happen for her love life. She doesn't want to have to leave her students and seeing her really try to make every effort to help them was so good. This case of mistaken identity with Jack really provided a good opportunity for them to meet and fall in love. The faith elements were good too, pointing to God's plan for their lives.

Jack had a rough upbringing but really cared about her no matter what.

This would be a good read for any Christian Fiction Historical Romance fan.

I listened to a complimentary audiobook and all thoughts are my own. I liked the narrator too!
