Last to Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn

Last to Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn
Book 3 in the Gossamer Falls Series
3.5 Stars, rounding up to 4.

Nice end to the series! We get Mo and Bronwyn's romance! This is 75% romance/25% suspense - mostly due to the nature of their relationship, past and everything they need to work out together.

This is the end to the Gossamer Falls Series, a Christian Romantic Suspense series. Bronwyn is strong woman who has poured her heart into The Haven, her family's resort. Financial discrepancies come up, tension builds, and she thinks there is more at play here other than financial issues. She gets help from Mo, her first love, and that adds an emotional layer to everything. Mo is a standout guy, he's a former Army Intelligence officer so he brings a lot of skills to the tables for the investigation.

I enjoyed my time with this one, as I was really ready for Mo and Bronwyn's romance. I am not always crazy about flashbacks in romance books, so those bits took me out the story a smidge. However, I do love the family thread and other characters we get throughout the book from previous books. Because of that, I recommend each book is read in order so you're not spoiled.

Also, while I love a good romance in the romantic suspense reads, I think I would like a bit more of the suspense elements to keep the plot moving, if that makes sense.

Overall, glad to have finished this series and would recommend!

*Content/Trigger Warnings: Mentions of drug trafficking, shootings, alcohol, deaths, someone trying to kill Bronwyn, cancer of grandparent, eating disorder, weapons, general crimes, nothing explicit but general themes of those items. Romance is kisses only and no language.

Thank you to Revell for sending me a complementary copy of this book to honestly read and review. All thoughts are my own.

Break My Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn

Break My Fall - Lynn H. Blackburn
Book 2 in the Gossamer Falls Series
4 Stars

Love this series - great romances and family dynamics! So pumped we got Police Chief Grayson Ward and Dr. Meredith Quinn's romance story!

This is a Christian Romantic Suspense series - we have small town danger, steady suspense and a good romance. Gray watches out for Meredith, loved that. At the beginning of the books, we see someone cut Meredith's fuel line so Gray was right there in the thick of things to keep her safe. While they had a rough start to their romance though, it was more realistic.

Gray had been through some hard things, loss of loved ones, so he was quite guarded in the romance department but Meredith knocks down his walls little by little. They try to resist their feelings because of several things but ultimately let their past go to proceed with things together.

Some of the bits did drag on a little bit, but I still enjoyed my time with it. I liked the romance and their interactions better then the suspense aspect too. It's nice to see characters in their early 30s too, more realistic look at things.

The suspense has drug lords, corruption, unexpected movements...I would say its a bit more morbid than usual but nothing extremely detailed at the same time.

What else can I say? Read if you like a good romantic suspense, families that have each others backs, light faith elements, brother's best friend, law enforcement MMC, etc.

Ready to read Mo and Bronwyn's romance next!! :)

Content/Trigger Warnings: Past loss of sibling, parents, loved ones recounted, death, gun shoot outs, drug lords, car accidents, mentions of human trafficking and domestic violence, mentions of bodies death, decomposing, loss of limbs, mention of breast cancer, a brief almost panic attack, kisses only clean romance, no language

Never Fall Again by Lynn H. Blackburn

Never Fall Again by Lynn H. Blackburn
5 BIG Stars!
Book 1 in the Gossamer Falls Series

From the moment I picked this book up, I was hooked! Really enjoyed the romance most of all. We have such emotional depth of Landry and Cal's journey together. Lynn H. Blackburn delivers a heartfelt blend of romance, suspense, healing and I loved it!

Landry is determined to rebuild her life with her daughter near Gossamer Falls, North Carolina. Her previous abusive relationship with her husband caused a lot of trauma for her and now that he is gone, she wanted to provide a safe home to grow up in and hires former Marine Callum Shaw to handle the construction on their new home. Cal grew up in Gossamer Falls and wants a family of his own. When Landry comes in with her daughter, he grows close to them but due to circumstances of his past experiences, he feels like he needs to keep his distance. That's obviously not a possibility the more he gets to know them :)

But before Landry's home can be worked on, her pottery is destroyed in a suspicious fire. Someone is after them but who?

I loved the authenticity of the characters, Landry's resilience and Cal's protectiveness over them! IT WAS THE ROMANCE FOR MEEEE. Great side characters too. Definitely check this one out!

Cornered by Lynette Eason, Lynn H Blackburn and Natalie Walters

Cornered Novella Collection - Lynette Eason, Lynn H. Blackburn and Natalie Walters - 4 Stars

Y'all I really think Romantic Suspense books are PERFECT in Novella format! I loved this one. After reading Targeted and now Cornered, I think this author trio should definitely continue these! They are fun, short reads with just the right amount of suspense and romance I prefer! Highly recommend to my Romantic Suspense fans!

5/5 The first novella is In The Dark by Lynette Eason. This features accountant Steph Cross who is cleaning out her co-workers desk after her shocking and unexpected death. It seems like an accident, but when she finds a cryptic note in her desk that looks like she was investigating something, it looks like her death was no accident at all. Detective Tate Cooper comes in and is determined to help her figure everything out before someone else gets hurt. Steph has quickly become someone important to him and he will do anything to help keep her safe. This is tied to her Lake City Heroes series and since I have read books 1 and 2 in that series, I really liked this novella because I was familiar with the setting.

4/5 The second novella is In Downfall by Lynn H. Blackburn. This features chef Cassie Quinn who fills in as chef at an exclusive mountain resort. The kitchen gets destroyed, she is in danger and thrown into a situation where her ex-boyfriend, Detective Donovan Bledsoe, has to help her. I haven't read Never Fall Again, but this is in the same setting of Gossamer Falls. I have to dive into that series now because this one was again, great suspense and romance! We had good depth with the characters here because they had history together. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was some of the second chance stuff because second chance can be hit or miss with me, but I did like their characters and ending to the romance.

3.5 to 4-ish /5 The third novella is In Perilous Obsession by Natalie Walters. This features Lahela Young, the sister of Kekoa from the S.N.A.P agency series. I really liked our characters here because it was familiar to me, as I have read the novella and book 1 for the S.N.A.P agency series. It is hard for me to remember the character names for some reason so I had a hard time there, but overall it was good. Lahela becomes the target of someone with a twister obsession to right a wrong. She turns to her friend Briggs Turner, who used to be a police officer, but wants to help protect Lahela in what is going on. The ending in this one was very unique in the suspense, wanted a little more romance here but great suspense and action.

Overall, these are some AWESOME novellas that I think a lot of y'all will enjoy! Highly recommend these author's books and series to look into if you want some good Christian romantic suspense options.

Thank you to Revell for a copy to honestly read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Beneath the Surface by Lynn H. Blackburn

Beneath the Surface by Lynn H. Blackburn
Book 1 in the Dive Team Investigation Series
 3.75 / 4

My first Lynn H. Blackburn book and won't be my last. I really enjoyed the writing style, characters and romance. This book was wild! I wasn't as interested in the suspense aspect in this one as the ending wasn't my favorite but I really liked the romance and writing so looking forward to continuing the series.

Leigh lives in North Carolina and works in the ER in the local hospital. Someone tampers with her breaks, she fears her stalkers is back. She reaches out to Ryan, her old high school friend turned homicide investigator to help. Ryan uses his skills as a volunteer underwater investigator with the Sherriff's office dive team to help uncover the mystery of how the body of a wealthy businessman is discovered in Lake Porter, also with a connection to Leigh... things go on from here and Ryan continues to protect Leigh and the suspense aspect tries to be solved.

As someone who loves a good romantic suspense, this had a great cast of characters and romance I really enjoyed. As far as the suspense itself, I wasn't a fan of how this ended and some of the descriptions for the killings were a bit much for me. (mentions of missing body parts and odd plastic surgery stuff) --- but that's just my personal take.

The book didn't really give you clues throughout to figure out who the killer was, which I prefer usually even if I can't necessarily figure it out myself. I found myself saying, "WHO?" when we found out the killer and I don't always love that personally.

Overall though, I enjoyed this one and am rating it 3.75 up to 4. I think if you like a good suspense with romance, try this out and see where you land. This also had some good faith elements I enjoyed.
