I absolutely loved this! Healing the Cowboy is part of the Christmas Ridge Series but can be read as a standalone. We follow Nora St. James who returns home to find her father's gambling problem has resulted in a detrimental future to the family ranch. With the weight of family responsibilities on her shoulders, she is set firm on keeping life together, leaving little room for romance. Enter in Clint Taylor, her charming best friend who works on his family's farm and is determined to win her heart. We start the book with him being ready to confess his feelings for her but things happen and those feelings don't get told just yet. Clint gets injured and Nora, as a nurse, takes care of him and we see their dynamic build, showcasing the tension between friendship and romance shift, as Nora grapples with her feelings while tending to his injury. 

The setting of Redemption Ridge provides a cozy, festive backdrop in Colorado - y'all know that's bound to be a BEAUTIFUL setting at Christmas time! 

As always, Mandi does a great job showing us what Nora is going through and her journey toward opening her heart. The faith content - perfect, as always. I LOVED Clint and seeing how much he loved her and wanted to share his feelings with her was chef's kiss! This is exactly the type of Christmas book I love to read during the holidays. Highly recommend!

  Lending a Paw by Laurie Cass - 4 Stars  Book 1 in A Bookmobile Cat Mystery Series This was a fun introduction to a new cozy mystery series with a cute cat sleuth helping along the way! With the help of her rescue cat, Eddie, librarian Minnie Hamilton is driving a bookmobile in the resort town of Chilson, Michigan. Things happen she least expects when Eddie runs off and finds the body of a local man in town..... Minnie is ready to let the police solve the case but Eddie seems to smell a rat! Together they work to find the killer.  This was a really fun one to read while I was recovering from having surgery this last week! :) As a gift from my friend Tammy, I am so glad I read it! (And that I had my kitty Simba right there with me while I read it was a cute bonus!) Eddie is a stubborn kitty and I LOVED THAT! He kept on pushing the limits to help Minnie out. :)  A bookmobile is also a unique thing to find in books that I absolutely loved. I am looking forward to more of Minnie and Eddie

I highly recommend this book as I was fully immersed in the story and characters.  Set during the Gilded Age in New York, we see the strength of the Stanhope women following the passing of Arthur Stanhope. Left uncertain of their future paths, Junietta, Sylvia, and Adelaide grapple with the ramifications of Arthur's will and the looming uncertainty surrounding their family's estate.
