Dead Fall - Nancy Mehl - 4.5 Stars (Book 2 in The Quantico Files Series)

OK YA'LL Nancy Mehl is a FAVORITE author for me for sure. After reading Cold Pursuit, Night Fall and now this -- SHE ALWAYS GOT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT! Top tier Christian Suspense author.

This book took me through it! We follow Alex and Logan again through their journey together as FBI Behavior Analysis Unit workers but this time the BAU co-found John Davis is found dead in his hotel room - with NO evidence of anyone having entered the room. Turns out, there's a serial killer on the loose who is causing people to commit suicide. How can you find the killer when he never touches his victims? The killer is targeting Alex's unit and things get crazy after this.

We get to see Kaely Quinn from the Kaely Quinn Profiler series, which I haven't read yet but don't feel like I missed anything by not reading it. BUT now I want to read it!

I had no idea who the killer was (as usual LOL) so I was so surprised and on edge. Love the faith that Nancy weaves in with the characters and seeing Alex lean into her newfound faith and how the Lord shows up in every circumstance for them.

4.5/5 - so good! Excited to read book 3 next year!
Trigger warning for suicide mentioned and some unsettling killer moments.

  Lending a Paw by Laurie Cass - 4 Stars  Book 1 in A Bookmobile Cat Mystery Series This was a fun introduction to a new cozy mystery series with a cute cat sleuth helping along the way! With the help of her rescue cat, Eddie, librarian Minnie Hamilton is driving a bookmobile in the resort town of Chilson, Michigan. Things happen she least expects when Eddie runs off and finds the body of a local man in town..... Minnie is ready to let the police solve the case but Eddie seems to smell a rat! Together they work to find the killer.  This was a really fun one to read while I was recovering from having surgery this last week! :) As a gift from my friend Tammy, I am so glad I read it! (And that I had my kitty Simba right there with me while I read it was a cute bonus!) Eddie is a stubborn kitty and I LOVED THAT!   All My Secrets - Lynn Austin - 5 Stars All My Secrets by Lynn Austin is a multigenerational story of 3 women that explores first loves, grief, high society lifestyle, history, the Christian faith and the essence of what matters most in life. I highly recommend this book as I was fully immersed in the story and characters.  Set during the Gilded Age in New York, we see the strength of the Stanhope women following the passing of Arthur Stanhope. Left uncertain of their future paths, Junietta, Sylvia, and Adelaide grapple with the ramifications of Arthur's will and the looming uncertainty surrounding their family's estate.
